and My Work

Kaitlin Blinsky, MSW, LCSW

Your Therapist

Hey there! Welcome to my practice, my name is Kait.

I graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Masters degree in Social Work. In addition, I received dual-bachelor degrees in Psychology and Social Behavioral Science with a minor in Addiction studies from the University of Mary. I am originally from Bismarck, and could not imagine a better place to fulfill my dream of providing counseling services in the community that I grew up in. As a native of Bismarck/Mandan, I have come to know the wrap-around services and resources available for the clients I serve.

I truly believe that my clients are the experts in their own lives. I see myself as a facilitator of conversations that lead my clients and their families to new perspectives.

MY Work

Therapy for Children and Adolscents

I specialize in therapy for children and adolescents aged 6 to 17 years old. My focus is to help children, pre-teens, and teens understand themselves in this BIG world.

The caregivers I work with have all sorts of questions like: “why does my child behave this way?”, or “why do they react like this?”. Caregivers feel stuck or like a “bad parent”.

Some children may experience events and/or ongoing hardships in their lives that impact their ability to cope. My mission is to help kiddos and families move forward in life with a sense of safety, connection, and empowerment to live a fulfilled life. Bringing a sense of calm back for the first time in their short life.

My therapy is a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), play-based interventions including sand-tray and expressive art modalities.

I consider myself to practice with a trauma-informed lens and I am always curious to know about the unique circumstances and struggles that my clients have had. I truly believe that kids have within themselves the amazing capacity to heal and therapy is a tool that helps them bring out their true resiliency.

I spent most of my professional career working with children and families. It has been my passion to bring sunshine and warmth to those who have felt a dim in their light.
