I specialize in therapy for children and adolescents aged 6 and up, with a focus on helping young people navigate the complexities of anxiety-related disorders and/or Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I work closely with kids, pre-teens, and teens to help them understand and manage their emotions, reactions, and behaviors in a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming. Many parents and caregivers come to me with questions like, “Why does my child react this way?” or “Why is this so hard for them?” It’s common for caregivers to feel unsure or even guilty, but rest assured, there is support and hope.
For children experiencing anxiety and/or OCD, it can often feel like they’re battling an invisible force that impacts their daily lives. These disorders can manifest in various ways, such as constant worry, compulsive behaviors, or overwhelming fears. My goal is to help these young individuals regain a sense of safety, control, and self-understanding while empowering families to support them effectively.

ABOUT
MY Work
Therapy for Children and Adolscents

In our work together, I use evidence-based techniques such as Exposure Response and Prevention (ERP) and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), which are both proven to be effective for treating anxiety and OCD. For younger children, I also incorporate play-based therapies like sand tray, expressive arts, and Trauma-Play, which help children express their feelings in a safe, non-threatening way. Additionally, I am formally trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is a proven intervention in processing past trauma and/or stress that impacts current experiences. Through these approaches, my mission is to help kids and families move forward with confidence, connection, and the tools needed to live a fulfilling, enriched life.

I know how tough it can be to watch your child face these struggles. That’s why I focus on creating a safe and understanding environment where your child can learn to manage their anxiety and thrive. Here’s how I can help:
Social Anxiety: I help kids and teens feel more comfortable in social situations by teaching them practical skills to handle their fear and build confidence with friends, classmates, and adults.
Separation Anxiety: If your child feels anxious when separating from you and you feel that your child has not been able to pass this developmental milestone, We will work together to help them gradually feel more at ease and develop the confidence to be away from you without the distress.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD): Using research-backed methods like Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), I guide kids and teens in breaking free from the cycle of intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors.
Generalized Anxiety: If your child is always worrying, I teach them ways to calm their minds and handle those overwhelming feelings, so they can focus on what matters without the constant stress.
Selective Mutism: For kids who struggle to speak in certain situations, I offer a gentle, step-by-step approach to help them feel comfortable speaking up in different settings.
Specific Phobias: Whether your child has a fear of heights, animals, or anything else, I help them face those fears with proven techniques that help them feel more in control and less anxious.
